11-19 year olds are invited to make a short film about the sustainable environment and to show how technology can overcome environmental issues.
An Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) competition for 11-19 year olds across the UK will focus on the work of engineers, technologists and architects and how they have designed our world. The competition calls for young people to make a short film about the sustainable environment and technologies as part of the IET’s Faraday programme, a resource for teachers of science, technology, engineering and maths. Competition entries should consider how technology could help us overcome issues such as global warming, increasing populations, diminishing natural resources, pollution of rivers and oceans and challenges suffering world economies will bring to our town and cities.
There are two categories of 11-14 year olds and 15-19 year olds. The winners in each category will receive £200. The closing date is 26 February 2010.
