National STEM Advisory Forum Website Launch

by Guest Blogger: CathyB 14. November 2008 05:20

The STEM Advisory Forum is an opportunity for all those interested in the teaching and learning of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to contribute their views of the STEM agenda.

The new and exciting web site was launched on 9th June 2008 and was formed to ensure that the wider STEM community has a facility through which they can express their views and contribute to policy formulation and development. Users can start discussions, add commentary, rate the usefulness of discussions, vote on the direction of new discussion threads and take part in votes and surveys.

The views expressed on the website will be used to help inform the Department for Children, Schools and Families and the Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills in taking forward the government's STEM agenda.

The project also intends to run bi-annual forum events which will provide forum members with the chance to discuss STEM related issues identified through web portal discussion, or from the STEM High Level Strategy Group. Visit http://www.stemforum.org.uk/ to find out more.
