Ignition* is  excited to announce that the Invent! competition 2010 is now open!

Open to both primary and secondary schools, there are five different categories all designed to enable young people to apply their creativity and skills of invention:

 A device to take an aerial photograph (Secondary schools)

  •  Pop a balloon with a flick (Primary & Secondary schools)
  •  A problem solved... (Primary Schools)
  •  New age transport (Secondary schools)
  •  The Recycled Orchestra (Primary Schools)

We are asking schools to submit outlines of their inventions for shortlisting by Friday 28th May.

Shortlisted entrants will be invited to an Invent! day on 12th July at Snibston Discovery Centre, Coalville, Leicestershire where a celebrity panel will judge the inventions and all young people can participate in creative workshops. The overall prize will be a ‘Grand Engineering Day Out’ in London.
