Hats, feathers, masks and make-up featured in the 8th Leicestershire Schools Fashion Show, which took place recently at the Athena Theatre, Leicester. Organisers, Leicestershire Education Business Company (LEBC), welcomed over 300 students from 15 schools across the city and county to perform their choreographed routines on the catwalk, featuring the textile work they have created for their GCSEs and A levels.
Keeping the student theme going, the sound for the evening’s entertainment was by students from Leicester College and comperes for the evening were students Christian Hewgill from Rawlins Community College and Tom Ross, previously from De Lisle Catholic School and now studying Broadcast Journalism at Nottingham Trent University.
The success of the evening was summed up by the Headteacher Callum Orr, of Rawlins Community College , who said, “LEBC’s Schools Fashion Show was a tremendous vehicle for students from across the county to collaborate and produce a memorable event. Thanks to the support of the sponsors and the tireless work of staff, the wonderful creativity of the young people was given expression in what were some stunning performances.”
